A Special Thank You to the Sunrise Rotary Fort Myers Club Officers, Board Members, and Rotarians.
As today is officially my last day as President of the Rotary Club of Fort Myers – Sunrise, I want to offer an official thanks to our club’s Officers, Board Members, and Rotarians for the many ‘Rotary Moments’ you made happen this year.
I’m grateful for the opportunity you gave me to serve as your President for the 2022-2023 Rotary year.Despite the harsh impact of Hurricane Ian on our fellow Rotations and two of our club’s major fund raising efforts, the ‘State of the Club’ is strong.
Together, after Hurricane Ian, we gathered for a day of Community Service. We helped save the demolition of two hard hit homes in Harlem Heights by cleaning them inside and out before they became irrecoverable. Many of the Rotations that served that day took time away from their own personal and business hurricane recovery efforts to serve others; demonstrating our club members commitment to ‘Service Above Self.’
Together, our club’s Officers, Board Members, and Rotarians launched the single biggest ‘mission’ initiative in our club’s history, with a 3-Year, $75,000 educational grant to the IMAG Science and History Museum. Impacting over 100,000 people annually, the club’s grant provides improvements to IMAG’s iconic Theater-in-the-Tank, which is the hub of IMAG’s connection with its visitors. From daily 3D movies, and IMAG Live! programs, the Theater-in-the-Tank is the most visible and integral part of the IMAG experience.
Together, our club’s Officers, Board Members, and Rotarians delivered the most successful ‘Drive for Education’ in the club’s history by raising over $90,000 for local eduction initiatives.
Together, our club’s Officers, Board Members, and Rotarians created many Rotary Moments throughout the year.
Thank you, again, for the honor of serving as your President for the 2022-2023 Rotary year.
Earl Quenzel
President, 2022-2023
