100 million people will tune into the Super Bowl this Sunday. For 24% of those tuning in, the main reason is to watch the Super Bowl ads.
Earl Quenzel stopped by the ABC-7 More in the Morning studio on Friday morning to talk about this year’s Super Bowl advertising and preview ahead of time several of the Super Bowl ads you’ll see More in the big game on Sunday.
With the economy recovering from the pandemic and consumer confidence relatively strong, this years Super Bowl attracted a record 30 new advertisers, which tops the previous record of 25 first-timers. NBC, which sold out of commercials at the beginning of February, received as much as $7 million for a 30-second commercial.
Earl told the audience, ‘The NFL provides some of the most popular programming on TV, and the Super Bowl remains the most watched event in the country. It’s the one place you can reach 100 million people in an evening. The biggest growth in advertisers this year came from the automotive, technology, entertainment, travel and healthcare industries.’ Earl also explained why TV ads remain so effective and which Super Bowl ads you should look out for this year.
