News-Press | Young Professional of the Year Nominee
Each year, The News-Press Media Group hosts a celebration in honor of people and the organizations who have made a significant impact in Southwest Florida in the past year. This year, Quenzel Marketing Agency is happy to announce that our client, Capt. Daniel Andrews, has been nominated as a finalist in the 31st edition of the 2017 People of the Year awards. Please join us in congratulating Capt. Daniel Andrews of Captains For Clean Water on his nomination for this prestigious award.
Growing up in Southwest Florida, Daniel spent many of his days either outdoors or on the water fishing. From here in SWFL all the way down to the Florida Keys, there isn’t a body of water that Daniel hasn’t come in contact with. As a result of spending so many hours on the water, Daniel witnessed first-hand a larger problem at play with the decline of the Caloosahatchee estuary. It is because of his long established history with our waters and passion for the outdoors that Daniel realized that his calling was to work towards protecting the Everglades and estuaries, and this was the realization that has continued to shape his life.
Born out of his passion, Daniel teamed up with three other local fishing guides – Josh Constantine, Blake Matterly, and Chris Wittman. They, with the help of two trial attorneys – Leland Gavin and T.J Scheiner – created the 501(c)3 non-profit organization ‘Captains for Clean Water’. The organization works to bring people together on an issue that has plagued South Florida for many of years. Florida has been compromised by development and agriculture. Through Everglades restoration and local watershed projects, Daniel and his team are fully confident that they can preserve our estuaries. Keep up the good work, Captains for Clean Waters – our waters are counting on initiatives like yours to keep our ecosystem thriving!
