City of Palms Classic - 38th Annual Boy's High School Basketball Tournament

CITY OF PALMS CLASSIC TOURNAMENT INFORMATION & SPONSORSHIP LEVELS

Held every year since 1973, 2010 marks the thirty-eighth year of one of Southwest Florida’s most exciting events... the State Farm City of Palms Basketball Classic. This year's event will run from Friday through Dec. 23.

This year's field features six of the top ten teams in America including No. 4 Christ the King (Queens, N.Y.); No. 8 Dr. Krop (Miami); No. 10 Winter Park, Fla.; No. 11 St. Patrick (Elizabeth, N.J.); No. 15 Milton (Alpharetta, Ga.); No. 16 Bishop Gorman (Las Vegas); and No. 21 Christ School (Arden, N.C.).

Meet the Stars of Tomorrow - 22 Teams/35 Games:

During the tournament, the finest talent among high school basketball players from across the nation will be showcased in front of thousands of fans, families, teams, coaches, media and scouts. Seventy-one former players in the State Farm City of Palms Basketball Classic currently play or played in the NBA. This year's tournament features:

Tournament Reach:

The State Farm City of Palms Basketball Classic receives national coverage from countless media outlets. Hundreds of radio commercials are part of the pre-event marketing plan. Live interviews and promotional broadcasts will be featured during the tournament. Various Southwest Florida and national newspapers, such as USA Today and ESPN Magazine, provide extensive coverage of the week-long tournament. The State Farm City of Palms Classic is televised on all local stations during the sports highlights and the third round and championship games are covered live
in prime time on ESPNU.

Coaches, Scouts & Celebrities

Nearly every top NCAA Division I and II school has representatives attending, including nationally prominent head coaches such as: Coach Krzyewski of Duke University, Coach Roy Williams of North Carolina University, Coach Rick Pittino of Louisville University and Coach Billy Donnovan from the University of Florida.

NBA Hall of Fame Player, Larry Bird, Boston Celtics Head Coach Doc Rivers, Danny Manning from University of Kansas and Detroit Pistons, Vonzell Solomon of American Idol fame and New York Knicks President Donnie Wals attended past tournaments.ance.

Sixty-eight former players in the tournament are currently playing or have played in the NBA.
